Pool Fun!!!

Sunday was one of the last warm days of the Summer that is left, so we decided to take Gunnar to the "water park". The swim lessons that Gunnar has been in since he was 6 months old are now paying off! He swam all afternoon and was underwater 75% of the time. Here are some pictures.

First things first, must have a good breakfast!

Swim trunks - CHECK!, Swim shirt - CHECK! Goggles, CHECK!

Misson accomplished!!!

New Friend!!

Friday we had a picnic at our house with my co-workers. It was lots of fun and one of my co-workers brought along her adorable niece, Ameria. As you can see from the pictures below, Gunnar and Ameria got along great. The night ended with Ameria yelling from the car as they were leaving "Gunnar, I am inviting you to my birthday party!!!". I think everyone had a nice time, but sorry to say I only took pictures of Gunnar & Ameria :-)! We can just add her to the list of Gunnar's adorable little girlfriends!

Ok - is she adorable or what? Of course, I already know that Gunnar is adorable!!!

Here they are having a quick bite to eat before they go back to playing.

The Park...

Well, the "Park" is almost done. I should of taken pictures of how it looked when we first got it, because it doesn't look at all like it did. Steve spent many hours staining, putting up the rock wall and the top part, and spray painting. He did a great job and even though there is more staining to do, (we have to wait until the wood is dry) Gunnar is enjoying his new "Park". I am sure he will have lots of wonderful memories playing on his "Park"!

Here are a couple more pictures:

Wood for playground $35; cost for new swings $30; cost for stain $18, new tarp for fort $30; "rocks" for the rock wall $60; "ships wheel" $33; Smile on Gunnar's face while playing on his new park: PRICELESS!!!

Busy weekend!!!

Well, needless to say, it was a very busy weekend! First, Friday ended with Gunnar helping Steve with his "Park" - and Sunday started and ended with the Brewers game. Oh, and I can't forget that we went shopping on Saturday morning to get Gunnar's first backpack - he very much ready to start school!

Here Gunnar has his "Bob the Builder" belt on and he is helping daddy stain his new "park". More pictures to follow in another post regarding Gunnar's new "park"!

Here is Gunnar on Saturday after he picked out his new backpack from Target. He wouldn't take it off, so he ended up napping with it on. He wanted a Transformer backpack and could choose from Optimus Prime or Bumble Bee, as you can see from the picture, Bumble Bee was chosen.

Here is a picture from us tailgating today for the Brewer's game - it was the first time Gunnar has been to a Brewer game and he made it all 13 innings!!! Uncle Pete came with us and we tailgated before the game. We had really nice seats too, right behind the Brewer dugout, along the first base line - Daddy got them from work!!

As you can see from the above picture, even though this was Gunnar's first time tailgating, he looked like a pro!

As you can see here, he was pretty content, although, he was more interested in seeing Bernie Brewer go down the slide than anything else. Also, he was interested in when it was going to be his turn to go on the field. Because on Sundays, they let the kids run the bases.

Uncle Pete took Gunnar down to first base so that he could run the bases - he had a blast doing it!

All in all, I would say it was a great day for a game and we had a great time!!! Not to mention that the Brewers won!!!

State Fair - 2008

Well, we finally convinced my mom to come to State Fair with us. Of course, we ended up picking the hottest day! But, we made our way through the Expo Center so that Nana could check out the latest gadgets, then, Gunnar had fun jumping on the trampoline. We then did what you have to do when you go to the Wisconsin State Fair - HAVE A CREAM PUFF. And who better to share your CREAM PUFF with than Nana. Of course Gunnar also had fun on the rides!!!

Are they cute or what???

Well, I thought the best way to start this blog was a picture of my two favorite little boys, Gunnar & Maddox. Aren't they adorable? They have their grandpa's blue eyes. Speaking of which, the weekend that this was taken, was a weekend that was tough for all of us. We ended up spreading my dad's ashes on the farm that he grew up on. It was bittersweet for all of us. Papa lives on through the two cuties in the picture above, he is looking down from Heaven and smiling!
